The 8th
Organizational Convention of 12th July Committee was held on 8th
& 9th March, 2014 at Niranjan Sadan (Bijoygarh), Jadavpur. The
Convention was started at 10-00 hrs on 8th March hoisting the Red
Flag by Com. Shib Shankar Roy, Jt. Convener, 12th July Committee.
The Convention was inaugurated by Com. Tapan Sen, General Secretary, CITU. He
made his deliberation on the present political situation of the Country and our
task in connection with 16th Parliament Election. He stressed on
political fight against anti-working class policy of the Govt. of India,
against danger cropped out throughout the country in the new form of
Communalism and against attempt for demolition of all democratic forums by
creating unprecedented fear-psychosis on the part of Govt. of West Bengal. He
urged for starting serious Class Struggle with determination, devotion and
dedication. Many other leaders including Com. Sukomol Sen and Com. Ajay
Muhkhopadhyay addressed the Convention.
Near about 900
Delegates and Observers from West Bengal State Co-ordination Committee,
C.G.C.C., A.B.T.A., A.B.P.T.A. and all other affiliates of 12th July
Committee and from all District Committee attended the Convention. The main
tune of their speech was the review of 12th July Committee in
building up movement during last three years and to start vigorous struggle
under the banner of 12th July Committee to fight out the onslaughts
unleashed by the Govt. of India and Govt. of West Bengal on the Working class
and to uphold the Red flag without fear and without compromise. All the leaders
and the Delegates insisted on restoration of Democratic atmosphere in the State
through direct movement of resistance.
Com. Tapan Dasgupta and Com. Samir Bhattacharjee
elected as Joint Convener of 12th July Committee.
